About the Demo:
1) We will demonstrate graphene electronic tattoos and their ability to capture daily electrophysiological signals. As a proof-of-concept, we will present ECG monitoring system that combines temporary graphene tattoos, connected to a smartwatch. In our demonstration, we will highlight how graphene tattoos can optimize Apple Watch’s ECG monitoring technology, improving overall signal quality. We will present a hybrid demonstration: a live portion to show the circuit-completion concept and ECG quality on a watch screen, and a short recorded video to illustrate the system workflow and longer-duration monitoring concept using a platform that supports continuous acquisition.

2) Attendees will interact with the demo by observing (1) graphene tattoos and a brief transfer process, (2) live smartwatch ECG acquisition, and (3) viewing the recorded video of the full system workflow. We will further discuss the design choices that affect usability, comfort, and signal quality.

3) This demonstration relates to frailty measurement because frailty is often associated with reduced physiological resilience and can be reflected in cardiovascular patterns over time. By reducing the required user actions to obtain electrophysiological signals such as ECG or EEG, this approach can support more frequent or longer-duration data collection in real-world settings, which may help capture long-term health trends relevant to frailty risk. The key connection is enabling higher-density, lower-burden physiological monitoring that could complement frailty screening and longitudinal assessment.
