Abstract
Our team developed a smartphone application (app) that uses the phone’s motion sensors to record movements during normal walking and walking while performing subtracting 3 from a random three-digit number (i.e. dual-task walking), with the phone placed in the user’s pants pocket. The app provided the user with multimedia instructions to complete the assessment. This presentation will demonstrate the app’s validity, reliability and applications. By enabling remote and repeated assessment of gait performance, we will highlight its potential for early detection of mobility and neurologically related declines, as well as for monitoring improvements in gait over time following interventions.
